Oil change

I have a 2016 Z06 and just turned 1000 miles. Should I change the break in oil early? Any oil change places up to speed on these cars or should I stick with a Chevrolet dealer?

Re: Oil change

if you are going to have the oil changed by somewhere, I would take it to an authorized dealer or higher end oil changing place.

I wouldn't want that drain bolt over torqued so early in its life nor the wrong fluid or filter used.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble a car and 1 nut to scatter it all over the road.

Re: Oil change

Yes I agree. Thanks for your input!
I made an appointment in Sarasota Florida at a Chevrolet dealership. And to my surprise they told me the first 3 oil changes are on Chevrolet for my 2016. They told me with 10 quarts of oil Z06 oil changes are $135. Nice surprise!

Re: Oil change

I bought my Z new around June 1 of 2013 and have yet to pay for an oil change at my Chevy dealer. Did the first one at 547 miles and have changed the oil every 1200-1500 mile since. All at no charge. I now have 6130 miles on the car and will be using my last freebie in the spring when I get my state's required bi-annual safety inspection. I don't think I would trust the guys at Jiffy Lube to change the oil in a dry sump system, its not like your average wet sump system. Nuf said.

Not to worry. 500 miles over is not going to ruin your engine or void your warranty.

Re: Oil change

I get free oil changes for the life of the car (2016 Z06). Got the paperwork stating so with my purchase.
