Effective immediately, the posting of nudity of any kind in the forums and Concours is expressely prohibited.
Previous links and images will be dealt with as they are discovered.
Nude banner shots (defined as images that contain a Z06Vette.com banner at the time of exposure (no banners added post exposure or by electronic means) *will* be allowed. These images will reside in their current location (the over 18 link in the Banner AREA *not* forum) but will be password protected as soon as the system is complete.
Passwords for this area will be given out on an individual basis to be detailed asap.
This is being done to create a more friendly environment for our younger viewers as well as protect ourselves from legal prosecution.
We thank you for understanding this new policy change and we welcome any questions you may have regarding this. Please contact a moderator (or administrator) with your questions.
Thanks again,
JC

Nude banner pictures that meet the above requirements should be sumbitted via EMAIL to: bannerpics@z06vette.com for inclusion and proper points distribution.
I personally believe that we're adults here - and a LINK (not direct embedding) of a file or link to files of adult nature WHICH CONTAINS THE APPROPRIATE WARNING should be allowed in the appropriate forum (Misc.).
For example, hot topless chick posing on the hood of a Corvette, I find it on the internet and want to share it. I make a post:
Title: Hot girl posing on Corvette **WORK/ADULT WARNING**
But, that's just me...it appears that would allow those who DON'T want to see this picture would simply not click the link - and those that DO want to see the picture would simply click the link.
Well - well - well : it seems I joined Z06Vette.com at that difficult stage of maturing that many other sites/forums go through.
This stage is what makes or breaks the site forum.
At this stage the many die-hard originals that have come from the early days and feel like "core members" will begin to feel some original freedoms being quashed.
Personally when a forum begins to display this kind of change is when it no longer gets to be fun.
Is the reason for the new policy because some "uptights" complained?
Just be careful all y'all don't throw the baby out with the bath water in an attempt to be politcally correct.
In short - lighten up - a link with a content warning should be good enough.
This is my simple 2c worth as a total newbie that has no say in the matter.
Seen it happen on many a forum, though this one seems large enough that it won't cause its demise, this type of thing could cause a lot of the "core members" to part ways...like Cam said, we'll have to wait and see...
Yea, it cost us $30 a month to host the site, we had no features, vendors, and major companies wanted nothing to do with us.....
I believe that anyone that attended the Fest really truly understands what this (site) is all about.....it's not about nudity, it's not about freedom of speech, it's not about post counts.....
Tam, and the rest of you guys. I hope that you don't see this issue as a breaking point. That would, indeed, sadden me. I've come to think of all of us as an extended family, my extended family. Hate to see anyone break and leave over such a small point.
The survival of any forum is only as certain as the dedication of the technical staff, and the members. It requires effort and understanding from everyone, and just like any successful relationship sometimes it requires hard work and patience as the relationship grows and changes., and a forum like this is certainly a relationship.
Give it chance to grow on you. You might find that it is not all that undesirable.
Dan

Not at all. I'm not going anywhere. Jim (TAMU) and I have moderated on a couple other forums together and we've seen where it leads when a forum starts heading in this direction. We're just sharing our experiences with you guys.
I can understand a "no porn" policy, and I agree. I do respectfully disagree with banning all nudie pics. If an appropiate warning is posted, and its posted in the appropiate forum (misc or banner pics), there shouldn't be a problem. JMO. If JC's mind is made up on this matter, I'll comply with the hopes that this sort of policy isn't extended any further. I've seen other sites fall into the "PC" trap. Lets not be one of them.
I appreciate your understanding and certainly respect your experience in this matter.
Just to be clear, I alone did not create this policy. It was in fact a democratic process by the sites peers.
With that said, rest assured that we will not extend this any further. I really believe and hope that password protecting sensitive banner pics will provide a happy medium for all parties.
Like I told the mods, hey, I love a good Osama joke
