New Garage Wall Banner

New garage wall banner came in today.

I had it color keyed to my garage. I can take it off and bring to shows and meets. It is 2 X 5 ft.

You changed the colors of the banner, that is wrong.

Sorry I did not mean to be blasphemous, I just wanted it to match the rest of my garage.

I have cabinets all around painted black with red doors.

Floor is next.

Was I that wrong to change to color

Sign was 65.00 and a one time art work charge of 25.00

a 2 X 8 was about $30 more but the font was as tall as the sign.

Since the artwork is done I can get it made, Only in the original banner colors.

Whats done is done. It would have been cooler to have the garage match the banner colors.

IVO, if I may, let me elaborate a little on what I think Ed (Panzer) is saying here.......

The people who start and own the various websites are very picky about the banner or logo they create, especially when their site or forum takes off and grows quickly (much as ours has done). I don't know if JC has copywrited the Z06Vette.com logo or not, but irregardless there is usually a very strong negative connotation that comes when the logo is abused, modified or used by unauthorized folks.

I know that your intentions were nothing but good and that 'free advertising' is probably the end result, but I think that Ed was trying to convey that this type of modification is not to be encouraged. Knowing how JC feels about the site and the logo he created, I would have to agree totally with Ed's comments about changing the color.
Once again, let me point out that we understand totally that your purpose was honest and done with the best interests of the site in mind. No personal flame toward you is intended in any way but we do need to discourage others who may consider doing similar banners or logos in the future.

Hope you understand where we're coming from on this

Mike

YES, I fully understand and I did not mean any harm. From now on it will be in the original colors or nothing.

I am trying to negotiate a better price if other people are interested. They told me five or more, I could get 10% off.

I think they can do better, I would do this as a service to other members if it is OK with management. cost plus tax & shipping that is all.

My apologies again,
Ivo

Damn-I hate it when Mike goes into his "Sheriff Mike" mode. Keep this up IVO and you'll have a gunslinger and a Panzer tank on your tail.

Don, I really try to keep the "Sheriff mode" to a minimum these days. Seems like you guys do a great job yourselves of keeping the BS at bay and "that's the way..uh huh, uh huh...I like it ..uh huh, uh huh..that's the way ...."

IVO,

If you have a source for this type of Banner that is willing to do a discounted price structure for a given level of orders then I thinkwe can work something out, I know I would be interested in one for my new garage.

Here is what I would ask you to do. PM JC (N4C5S) and tell him about the vendor you are using for these banners and of the deal he is willing to strike. Ask JC for some official specs/artwork of the logo that could be used to create an official banner. Then we can get a bunch of "official" site banners made that everyone can be proud to display in their garage, at car shows, etc, and it will be true to the Z06Vette.com brand.

I will mention to JC to keep an eye open for your PM.

I think this could be very cool.

Mark

IVO,

I just spoke to JC and he is all in favor of offering "official" banners via the source you are working with, I will pm you a link to the offical logo artwork, a vector image, that you can give to your printer for him to use to create large banners.

Please take the artwork to your printer and get the best pricing deal you can, you might want to get different levels of discounts based on numbers of orders, I think the number of banners ordered might be pretty high...

I think that is a fairly safe statement. I have a place already scoped out to place one in my garage.

Go IVO! Great idea. If done with JC's permission, this could be a real service to everyone. Thanks. I'd buy one.
