These banner pics were taken from San Jacinto Battle Ground National park 15 mile east of Houston. It's also known as "The Birth Place of Texas." On this site Sam Houston led his men into battle on April 21,1836. One hundred years later a 570 foot monument was built to remember that great moment in Texas history. The battle only lasted 20Min. yet hundreds of lives were lost. For you history buffs and buffets
