Proud Texan and banner pics to prove it.

These banner pics were taken from San Jacinto Battle Ground National park 15 mile east of Houston. It's also known as "The Birth Place of Texas." On this site Sam Houston led his men into battle on April 21,1836. One hundred years later a 570 foot monument was built to remember that great moment in Texas history. The battle only lasted 20Min. yet hundreds of lives were lost. For you history buffs and buffets out there here is a link the museum's site.
The first is me. It was difficult tring to line-up the camera and set the timer.

Second is a picture of the laying of the corner stone.

Third is the site where the most bloodiest part of the battle took place.

Forth is a book signed by Sam Houston.

Fifth is over looking the battle field from the top of the monument.

Hum five banner shots, how many Zmiles is that?

Man, I do miss Texas. Had family that fought and died at the Battle Of San Jacinto. And he, all us Texans are proud of where we come from. How many other states can claim that they were their own individual country and got their a$$ kissed by the US so that we would join up the first time, and then so that we would come back. That and how many other state flags are allowed to fly at the same height at the national flag. Only one, the Texas Flag.

The typical Texas statement. I have been to Texas twice once for a wedding and once for my sisters Graduation from Lackland. I like texas because your concealed weapons class is only 1 hour as opposed to ours here in Arizona which is 16. Also Bush was gov. from there so that makes it even better. Plus you kill almost all your inmates. Texas is one of the places that I would want to relocate to after I graduate.

Just for clairification, CHL class time in Texas is 8 hours (both for first timers and re-newals) and includes a 50 shot timed profeciency test ranging from 3 to 15 yards.

My bro-in-law is in the military and they had told them if they want to carry the guns if they had brought any that the class was 4 hours not 1 hour, but I guess that was incorrect as well.

My bad. Thanks for the correction, but that is still less time than ours here which is always a good thing.

I do as well. Proud to say I'm an eighth generation Texan. I've looked into joining the Sons of the Republic of Texas but haven't done so yet. A big thanks to z06nut for the post!
