NCM To Build Dragstrip!

It's official, the NCM announced it has acquired 70 plus acres to be used for the development of an Educational Motorplex Park to be located across the Interstate (I-65) from the Museum.

The Motorplex Park will offer a 1/4 mile dragstrip, 1.5 mile road track, and an autocross/skid pad area!!!

The MPP will be available for rent to Corvette clubs for their educational and competitive use and will an educational facet during NCM events.

Conceptual plans and more information will be announced in August.

I've known about these plans for a while but didn't post it until I knew it was official. Well, it's official and I, for one, am excited about the news!

Whether you prefer drags, auto-x, or road course events, you'll have your choice to do it at the NCM!

Re: NCM To Build Dragstrip!

Yes, the Motorplex Park will be within 1/2 mile of the Museum, just across Interstate 65. Compared to the privately owned Beech Bend park which is approximatley 10 miles from the NCM.

Close is nice!

Glen, the NCM is the host location for the Fest, so this is incredibly good news for all of us...

Re: NCM To Build Dragstrip!

This is great news!!! Better Z06fests are in our future. Bye bye Beech Bend and no extra driving to do a HPDE.

Re: NCM To Build Dragstrip!

This is great news. I'm glad they abandoned the 1/8 mile idea.
