Don't know where to post this, but since I'm a C5 guy, I'll do it here and the mods can move it to the best place...
Was at the National Corvette Museum yesterday. Very early in the morning while the museum was closed, one of those wall mounted corvette clocks with the neon light ring around it fell off the wall (they keep them pluged-in) and landed face down on the carpet of the gift shop. The carpet caught fire. Fortunately the incident happened right before someone came it at 7 AM. They put out the fire and they had a professional crew cleaninig the soot/damage. These clocks are hanging on the wall above racks of 100's of T-shirts. If the clock had fallen at 2 AM with all those priceless cars in there (many of them on loan)...well you get the picture.
They closed off about 1/3 of the gift shop, but kept it open. The rest of the museum was open normally.
Just wanted to share this because it made me

to think that great place came so close to a major disaster...
