.Okay here it is, this company in new Jersey approched me to offer "FREE" headers, "FREE" Y-Pipe, Dyno the car all for free because they want to develop a new header and Y-pipe system for the ZO6.
My only concern is that my car has only 550 miles on the odometer and I was told that its to much strain on the engine to run a few dyno's, because of the new engine, but don't forget the stuff is free.
What would you do?
If its no good because of the engine being new would anyone else from jersey be interested?
The headers will be installed in Philadelphia and the y-pipe will be installed in queens, the dyno will also be in Philadelphia, if you guys want more info PM me.
I think 550 miles is plenty for break in, I'd go for it. Alot of people would say that you'd be doing your engine a favor to run it hard as early as possible.
Just make sure they will get the engine up to operating temperature before they start the first dyno run, and that they give it proper cool down between runs and everything should be great.
However, don't sign anything that lets them weasel out of any damage they may cause due to negligence! The dyno won't hurt anything, but the people might.
also he mentioned that between the headers and y-pipe the car will run 80% before dyno, which means i will be driving around 160 miles at 80% what ever that means??

Still working out the details. Involves quite a bit of work and some before and after dyno time. I offered my car as long as I am there for the entire process. Stainless headers, Y pipes and electric cut outs, and tuning with or without the loss of my cats. Established shop with a history developing new products.
The electric cutouts, controlled from inside the car, can be opened either partially or completely to bypass the mufflers and tailpipes. The Y-pipes would be the diversion. Anybody have these on a Z here? Are they a worthwhile performance mod or just pure noise?

My guess is that you will drive with them closed 98% of the time. And when they are open, everyone within a five mile square area is going to hear you.
