NHRA-Hot Rod Reunion Tour
The annual Hot Rod Reunion nostalgia drags takes place at Beech Bend this weekend. They will also have a show-n-shine for spectators.
If you remember the top fuel front engine slingshot dragsters, super stock, altereds, etc, this is the place to see over 400 of 'em run the 1/4 mile.
Fri & Sat is qualifying. Sunday eliminations and awrds. Saturday night features "caklefest." For those unaware, the top fuel boys start 'em up, and let the cars idle with flames and cackle type sounds emitting from the headers. Gotta love it!
Zip, Great pic's... The sad thing is Iv'e seen some of them run... Thanks for posting them..
I didn't have a top fueler, but I did have a CG/D 177 " wheel base SBC...They are fun to drive..
Ernie

Re: NHRA-Hot Rod Reunion Tour
"Freight Train" Dual engine dragster smoked the tires the full 1/4 mile.
This is the "World's Fastest Backhoe." I talked to the driver and found out it runs about a 100 in the quarter, and top speed about 150mph. Unfortunately, I didn't see it run..rain delayed the day's schedule.
I'll bet Beech Bend hasn't changed a bit since the day those cars were state of the art.
Careful Ernie - you're dating yourself
Thanks for the pics Zip - cool stuff!
