A October 22, 2005
for the Spartanburg, SC Children’s Shelter

This CFCC Fall Color Run will be about 150 miles (5 hrs +/-) of SC & NC’s most beautiful scenic roads and mountain runs with stops at Looking Glass Waterfall, Sliding Rock, a NC Trout Hatchery near Brevard, NC, Caesars Head State Park in SC, and the last covered bridge in SC.

This is not a race but a scenic Fall Color cruise.

BRING A PICNIC LUNCH FOR A WONDERFUL TIME AT THE NC TROUT HATCHERY PICNIC AREA.

The basic route – Spartanburg, SC; NC Welcome Station on I-26; Saluda, NC; Hendersonville, NC; Pisgah National Forest; Brevard, NC; Caesars Head State Park in SC; and back to Spartanburg, SC.

Donations are for the Spartanburg, SC Children’s Shelter. Tickets are $10 for 10 tickets to win a set of over 450 high quality mechanic tools (retail value $3,000).

Start at Sears Automotive at the Westgate Shopping Mall in Spartanburg, SC located one (1) intersection East of I-26 and SC-29 (W. O. Ezell Blvd.) and end at the Beacon Drive In.

All cars out at 9:30 AM - All cars back by 3:00 PM – Rain or Shine.

Bring your handheld walkie-talkie and set it to Channel 2.0

To All that will run the CFCC Fall Color Run on Saturday October 22, 2005 it looks like Mother Nature will smile on us. The forecast is Sunny and 79 degrees.

Let me know if you will run with us so I can have enough direction sheets printed up in case you want to drop off for a scenic picture shoot at one of the many great scenic locations and catch up to us at the next stop.

See you Saturday Morning! We leave at 9:30 AM. So try and arrive by 9:00 AM and no later than 9:15 AM.

If you plan on meeting up with us on the route let me know and I will e-mail you the route so you can meet us on the way.

It looks like we will have a good turnout from the PM's I am receiving.

For those of you coming West (really North) on I-26 for the CFCC October 22, 2005 Fall Color Run you might want to meet up with the Columbia, SC Corvette Club and caravan with them to Spartanburg, SC.


The Columbia, SC Corvette Club will meet at the Piggly Wiggly on Lake Murray Blvd right off I-26 in Irmo, SC

Plan is to leave the Pig at 7:30AM

Wednesday's Weather Update for Saturday Oct 22, 2005:

To All that will run the CFCC Fall Color Run on Saturday October 22, 2005 it looks like Mother Nature continues to smile on us. The forecast is Partly Cloudy (NO RAIN) and 77 degrees.

See you Saturday Morning! We leave at 9:30 AM. So try and arrive by 9:00 AM and no later than 9:15 AM.

It looks like we will have a good turnout from the PM's I am receiving.

I see from your Sig that you are running a Supercharger. We have at least one beautiful Lingenfelter Z06 that will be running with us, so you guys could have had some fun on the old original switchback Saluda Grade with all the passing lanes.

From the PM's I am getting I see some others from the Charlotte, NC. are going to caravan down together on Saturday Morning.

Thursday's "Weather Channel" forecast for Saturday October 22, 2005 for the CFCC Fall Color Run:

Mother Nature is sending us some rain on Friday night (40% chance), but it is moving out late Friday night. Here is the "Weather Channel's" forecast as of 10 AM October 20, 2005:

I checked the weather channel and it says 40% chance of rain early Friday night with the rain moving out late Friday night and for Saturday a "Few Showers".

I will check again tomorrow.

Yes some guys I know are going from Charlotte. Is the other vette you're talking about yellow? If so I think he and one of the guys going from Charlotte (Procharged silver C5) had a nice "spirited" run on one of our past outings. Beautiful car. I'll catch you guys on a future outing.

Here is the "Weather Channel's" forecast as of 10 AM October 21, 2005:

I checked the weather channel and it says 30% chance of rain early Friday night & a "Few Showers" early Saturday Morning.

I will check again tonight and post about 6:30 PM what I get on the weather for tomorrow.

Depending on the weather will will now have about 40 to 50 Corvettes if the weather holds. This includes some Corvettes meeting up with us at the Saluda Grade and in Brevard.

PS We will have coffee and donuts when you arrive at Sears.

There is an Exxon Gas station diagonally across the street from Sears and a BP about 1/2 mile on the left on SC-29 (W. O. Ezell Blvd towards downtown Spartanburg past Sears and the WestGate Mall)

Friday's 6:15 PM "Local Channel 7" forecast for Saturday October 22, 2005 for the CFCC Fall Color Run:

Some rain on Friday night (now down to a 30% chance),

The local forecast now says some rain early Friday night & a "Few Showers" early Saturday Morning.

We will now have about 40 to 50 Corvettes if the weather holds. This includes some Corvettes meeting up with us at the Saluda Grade and in Brevard, NC.

Remember we will have Krispy Kreme Donuts and Krispy Kreme Coffee at the Sears Automotive Center at (9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.

I feel it will a "GREAT DAY" to put the top down and cruise before old man winter makes it too rough on us to enjoy days like we will have
