Autobahn Club Track Day

I would like to invite the forum members to the Autobahn Country Club for a special Track Day event on Friday October 3. The track day is part of the Barrington Concour(fancy car show) which raises money for Hospice and the Barrington Area Conservation Trust. We will be running four groups; A- For Race/Track prepared cars B-For intermediate drivers C- For classic cars and D- For novices. There will be instructors for all novices as well as a classroom talk. We will be on the South Track(2.1 miles). There will be a catered lunch in the members building for all drivers and guests as well as refreshments during the day. I know that the Entry fee of $300 is more than most track days cost but thanks to a generous donation by The Northern Trust Bank, all that money is going directly to the charities.
Also be sure to come to the Concour itself which is being held at Arlington Park this year. We had a incredible turnout of cars last year which got national attention and this year is shaping up even better! For More information on the Barrington Concour weekend check out our website at Welcome to the BarringtonConcours d'Elegance at Arlington, Park. I look forward to meeting you at the track!
Sincerely,
Jim Hamman

Robls6, if you go to the Concour website www.barringtonconcour.org under Celebration of Speed you will find information on how to register for the event. If you need more information just let me know and I will PM you or post it up here.

Re: Autobahn Club Track Day

WOW! Hay you guys could not have picked a better day. I am planning on going to Putnam Park on the 4&5 for the NCM Event. So the 3rd will work for me, as I'll be taking that week off anyway.

My wife and I were Mike Newlander's guest at Autobahn a couple of months back. (both of us got a ride in the 'Beast') What a beautiful facility. Sounds like a good charitable event. I'm in!
FYI the link did not work.

Later,

All the way from TN, thats really cool! I got word today that a fellow is coming up from St. Louis so it looks like we will get a chance to make new friends from all over the country.
The "Beast" is an amazing car, I think it has turned 1:25s on the South Track which is just flying...

Does anyone know how to make a link work? I am a complete newbie at this.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Autobahn Club Track Day

We are getting very close to the event(Oct 3rd) and have everything from Ferraris to Miatas signed up but only one Vette. I have heard some complaints that the event is very pricey at $300 ($100 for non drivers) and I agree, but all the money (tax deductable) goes to the charities and breakfast and lunch are included. Even if you are not interested in the track day you should still come out to Arlington Park for the Concours on Sunday October 5. The cars are spectacular again this year (there are four Corvettes in the show) and the new venue is much easier to park at.
For more information on the Track day at Autobahn and on the whole Barrington Concours weekend please go to Welcome to the BarringtonConcours d'Elegance at Arlington, Park . I hope to see many Midwest forum members that weekend.

Re: Autobahn Club Track Day

I will try to get some video and photos though I lent my car with my racecam to a buddy for the SCCA runoffs. We still need better Corvette participation, as of now there will be more Miatas than Corvettes...
