One of my coworkers and long-time friends, a Sergeant at Oak Brook Police Department, is very involved in Kids In need (KIN).
We would like to sponsor an all Corvette show in Oak Brook and charge a small fee to enter a car, maybe fifteen dollars or so, and donate all of the proceeds to KIN. We could do a raffle on the day of the show for a couple of donated door prizes, and maybe a split the pot where half goes to KIN and half to the lucky winner. We don't have the location finalized yet but are probably going to get a designated part of the parking lot at Oakbrook Center Mall at 22nd and 83. We thought a short show, like 10:00 - 3:00 would get a lot of lookers, and we could follow it with a short police-escorted Corvette Cruise. We don't have the date selected yet but we want to do a Saturday or Sunday before the end of October. What we ask of you right now is some help with selecting the date. What dates are already booked with other shows, races, etc? Who is interested?

Actually, I am Randy. I just can't get my name here changed to RandyVettes like everywhere else. My coworker pal is Marc DeLise.

We will definately be holding this show on Saturday October 1st at the McDonalds on 22nd and Spring in Oak Brook from 10 AM - 3 PM. I am opening it to my F-Body friends so its officially a Corvette/Camaro/Firebird show. We are asking $15.00 from each of you that enter a car to be shown, and asking that you stay the entire time. We are gathering door prizes to be raffled and also doing a 50/50 split the pot raffle. Car entrants will get a few raffle tickets for free.
Come on out for a good cause. If I have it in time, my C6 Z06 will be there.

Who can I count on to come out?

I may attend if I don't have to work a mandatory shift that day.

Raffle license denied! Oak Brook doesn't allow public outdoor sales of raffle tickets. All raffles are to be held indoors and as part of private functions. In addition, we just learned that we cannot use the location that was previously approved.

Car show cancelled. Raffle prizes collected will be given to KIN to use at future events.
