I think you are safe with the 02's. I've got an 01 and have had only minor problems. My biggest pain/gremlin is the phantom windshield wipers that love to come on by themselves when I am no where near a dealership
If you haven't drove it yet then go take it for a spin and you will be doing this. If it has been well maintained and in no wrecks it should be a good car. If you buying it from an individual and not sure about the car take it to a Chevy dealer and let them check it out.

It is actualy at a Chevy dealer in their used car lot. I will be taking a test drive tomorrow evening and I will let everyone know how it goes.. I am excited....
Wow, a 2002 for $20,000 less than a new one. That puts it at 23 to 24 grand. Sounds to good to pass up. If I could have bought an 02 with low miles for that price I would not have bought a new one. Go for it.

A new one is $55,000 unless you got the deal last week... I spoke with Rick Daniels once and then he never returned my call...
I bought mine in Dec 03 for $43,000. There are several vendors on this forum offering similiar deals now. The going rate for a new one seems to be about 10 to 11 grand off list. It looks like there is stlll a $2000 rebate so I would not be surprised if there are some killer deals right now. There are still several places that won't deal, but if you are willing to travel or have one shipped you can save some real dough on a new one.
$35,000 for an 02 with 10k still sound like a good price.
Good luck with whatever you decide. One test drive will be all it will take.
I bought my '02 last June for 39,900 and it had a little over 2000 miles on the clock. No major problems to report. Just a passenger window that will sometimes not go down which I think is a moisture issue with the relay and I have an intermittant "miss". I am getting ready to take it to the dealer for that. Good luck with your purchase!

Anyway I am getting it for $35,000.....
I dont think anyone ever paid 55K for a new Z06, at least I hope not. Your deal still sounds about right. I would suggest having the dealer show you the maintenance records in the GM computer for that car. Good luck.
when i bought my 02 used from dealer i took car over to my local speedshop and they checked it out for free, checked to see what might have been put on car and then taken off when traded in...i was especially concerned about NOS being on car and then removed...speedshop checked out 3 cars before i settled on my current ride...then speedshop did a dyno for me just to make sure car was strong and then i purchased...then the speedshop made lots of money off me for my new mods.
