Just as disapointing as the 50th Anniversary edition. IMHO

The Autoweek article states: "the car begins to atone for disappointment surrounding the understatedness of the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette." What? Are they kiding? More like: "the car begins to rub salt in the wounds of those hurt as a result of disappointment surrounding the understatedness of the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette."

$3000-to-$5000 price increase for 10lb lighter hood, revised shock damping, funky paint scheme, and limited numbers? I'll pass. To each his own. It is still a Z06, though!

I have to agree. Another big disappointment. At the birthday bash when they unveil the 2004 vette everyone in the crowd should booo... really loud and begin chanting " We Want More Horsepower" and then maybe Chevrolet will get the hint. Paint schemes and badges are not going to cut it. If the C6 is going to be anything like this I am sending my C5 to Lingenfelter and not worrying about the future models. I would recommend boycotting these special paint scheme vettes. Just my opinion.
Cory..

Didn't Chrysler have a hard time selling them funky paint colors on the mopars of the 70's
And look how much their worth now.

I like this car but nobody will know thats a carbon fiber hood- it looks like a stock one and its all painted.

When you see the hood you will know it's CF.

I'm not sure if I like those stripes. A single Grand Sport type stripe would look better in my opinion.

Maybe it is just the picture but that paint job has decreased the desirability of the car not enhanced it.

1Fastdog, how will I know? Wavy? Fits like $hit?

I haven't actually seen a carbon fiber hood up close on any car.

Is that right? Please explain how a $3000 to $5000 price hike for a hood and decals gets us there?
