2004 Z06 Console Lid

my console lid only opens about 3 inches.
can hardly get my hand in to open gas lid.
is this normal or is my hinge defective.

I had a problem like that where it was really hard to open. When you get it open, spray the hinge with WD-40. It fixed mine.

Mine only opens slightly also. Will have to try the WD-40 thing.

Seems like the far side of the lid hits on the seat. Mine has 3 open settings.

3" open

push hard

6" open

push harder

fully open.

You'll see that the hinge is kind of "articulated". WD40 once a year is a must. Another great GM design:mad
