40th Anniversary >FRC and Z06

Yes let us not forget that this is the 40th Anniversary of the 1963 Corvette. Which gave us new suspension, brakes a fixed roof, 5 Grand Sport cars that whooped butt on the track and of course the Z06 option.
To me this when Corvette showed it self to the world as a machine to be taken seriously.
I love the looks of the C1s but on a 1953 Chevy chassis it is hard driving, in 1975 I drove my 1962 back from San Fran., CA to Miami, FL first driving south to LA to catch RT 66 a drive I will not forget.

Hi Tom, I agree that the 63 was what put the vette on the map as a world class sports car with the additions that you spoke of along with the styling. I was fortunate enough to learn to drive on a 63 and a few years later owned a 64. I still have a love for that model more than any other pre FRC model. To be honest, I lost interest in corvettes from the mid 70s though mid 90s. However, when the C5, specifically the FRC came out, I was bitten again.

I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season. I look forward to seeing you at some of the upcoming Florida evnts.

Don

I agree. I have said many times that the '03 Z06 is a 50th corvette and 40th anniversary Z06. That is one reason why I got the Z not a 50th package
