Hey all, I'm about to buy a 2001 Z06 with only 15k miles, car looks great, runs great, but I had a GM dealer pull up the maintenance history, and there's a lot of stuff there. Just wondering if someone could give me an idea if this stuff is normal or if the car may be a lemon.

Re: About to buy 2001 Z06, are these issues normal?
Some things here are normal, some arent. But from what i see, a person looking at this history could conclude that the car has been regularly maintained and no wrecks. But we are talking about an 11 year old car. If its running fine, theres no problems right now. Looks fine, no paint/bodywork needed. And only 15k mi? what are you waiting for? Drive that sucker and enjoy!!
Re: About to buy 2001 Z06, are these issues normal?
My experience is limited to a 2003 C5 Z06 with a little over 22,000 miles when sold and a 2007 C6 Z06 now at about 20,000 miles. So thru 2 generations and over 40,000 miles I might have had 3 or 4 warranty issues-all little except the flying roof on the 2007. I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions about the number of trips to the shop with only 15,000 miles.

It looks a lot better after I trimmed the list of "normal" issues, recalls and fluff, but it is still a touch excessive. It wouldn't scare me off the car at all. I'd just be happy to see a solid service history.
My car has 23K miles on it and has only seen the dealer twice. Since I've done all the work, it makes for a Carfax that either looks like a low mile gem with no issues, or scares someone cause there's no service history.

Re: About to buy 2001 Z06, are these issues normal?
Yea, no history after 2004, the current owner claims to have done all the service and maintenance himself in accordance with the GM corvette manuals. Thanks for all the replies guys, makes me feel better about the car.
