Brian,
Thanks for the positive endorsement and support. Oli, thanks again for the support and positive comments as well. I truely appreciate them.
For all those interested in AMSOIL, please drop me an email,
c66racing@hotmail.com, or PM, so I can explain the benefits of the
AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program, some of which I can't share in a national forum due to AMSOIL advertising policies.

In answer to your questions, I'd say the answer depends... which is why I don't mind trading emails, PMs or phone calls with my customers.
AMSOIL makes several oils which do meet the owners manual requirement for an oil meeting GM Standard 4718M, but... if you track your car, or is your car is out of warranty, these oils might not be the best choice. For example, I use
AMSOIL Series 2000 20w50 for its high HTHS rating, but this oil clearly does not meet owner's manual requirements of a 30 weight.
Given your car is an 04 under warranty and you don't track it:
These are the two best AMSOIL products meeting GM Standard 4718M:
AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30
AMSOIL SAE Synthetic 5w30
The 5w30 is roughly equivalent to the new Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 (which does not meet GM Standard 4718M) and is probably suitable for the vast majority of daily drivers including yourself.
This is the tranny fluid which meets owners manual requirement for a GM Dexron III fluid (and I use this in my car):
AMSOIL ATF
This is the diff fluid which meets the owners manual requirements (and again the one I use in my car):
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90
This fluid comes with friction modifier in it and doesn't need an extra bottle. However, AMSOIL states that if your diff chatters, it is safe to add a bottle of the
AMSOIL Slip-Lock Differential Additive. Very few of my customers need this. My diff does not chatter and I don't use it.
AMSOIL just released a line of new line of oil filters,
AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter, that use a new nanofiber technology developed in cooperation with some of the heavyweights in the filtration industry including Donaldson and Wix. These filters are rated for one year or 15k miles of use. While I am using one in my wife's Chevy Trailblazer, I'm not sure they have high enough flow for racing applications, so I am currently not using one in my car. Correct part number for the LS1/LS6 and LS2 motors is EAO32 (same one my wife's Chevy Trailblazer takes as it has a 5.3L V-8 in it).
Ordering info is in my sig which should be too hard to find on this forum.
Any sales via the
AMSOIL Online Store, including the AMSOIL link on the left, which use reference number 1206638, will be credited to my dealership, benefiting my race team and the forum. As an FYI, long time forum member DJWORM assists me while I am... uh... unavailable. His dealer reference number is 1289001. If DJ has helped you with some technical advice in the past, please feel free to use his dealer reference as a small way to repay him. Sales via him also benefit me and the forum.
