I bought a turkey baster and some Prestone DOT 4 brake fluid, and I'd like to start replacing the clutch fluid in my '02 Z06.
However, the cap seems to be really on there. Does it twist off or pull off? Is there some sort of trick to getting it off without pulling the entire reservoir off with it? :screwy:
Maybe a rubber strap wrench. Or wrap some tape around the cap & CAREFULLY use channel locks. The cap can get really tight for some reason. It'll come off eventually.
I usually use a shop rag wrapped around the cap and just twist counter-clockwise to get it turning. Sometimes it is on there really tight (don't know why as I regularly check it) and it takes a little extra effort to get it turning.
Here's an important trick with a stuck cap: Lay some towels around the reservoir. During a normal fluid change I always do this to prevent me from being too stupid and spilling fluid. If your cap is stuck it would be even easier to spill fluid on the surrounding area.
