I guess I'm biased by having seen No Mercy's car. That sucker makes a statement without having to resort to "gimmicks". Not that "gimmicks" are bad in all cases. White equates to a clean look - no need for clutter.

I would have ordered without them. The car had 'em and now they have kind of grown on me.

The more C5's I see without BSM's the more I dislike the look. They just look too plain without them and to me, look like something is missing. Although it appears more folks on this board dislike them or care to express their dislike, the majority of C5's, almost 60%, have them. I for one, ordered them on my coupe and I'm sure glad I did.

the car looks good both ways, but the Z06 model in my oppinion looks better WITHOUT them on. my friend purposely ordered his 2002 Quicksilver/Black Z06 without them cause he doesnt like them on either. true they serve a purpose and save dings, but car looks better without them. Mike

I agree, the C5 looks great regardless of whether it has or doesn't have the BSM's. Some folks absolutely hate them and will remove them the first chance they get. There seems to be no happy medium. Its like a religion...You either hate them or you love them. The one thing most of us agree on is we love our C5's and that's what counts....Happy C5N....

Just can't get used to the way they look - fortunately mine came without them - although if I had to park in crowded lots on a regular basis then I would probably get them

Until they have reserved parking for Corvettes everywhere I park the world is filled with idiots and little kids that will slam their door into yours. So what is worse a dent in the sheet metal and a repaint to fix it? or BSM that worse case can be replaced pretty easily. In an ideal world BSM screws up the lines of the C5 however I have come to see them as very normal and practical.

I like it alot, i have it on my car and we can debate all day about how it looks, but i know it has saved my door from some idiot smashing their door against mine more than once!

My car came with the BSM. I tried to get the dealership to take them off , but they wouldn't. So my dad and I took them off with fishing line and it made the car look ten times better.

I have 'em and don't mind the look. If it saves my "baby" from a ding or two, they're worth it.

Me Too!

Took mine off too! I added the screens in the vents. Now, I think it looks as it should have. So much better to me. The screens add to the "scooped look" down the side. The moldings took away from it!

No, no no on the BSM's. If my salesman goofed and the car has it when delivered I will have them removed. Yuck !

They came on my car so the factory position
is alright with me. I don't know if I would order
a new Z06 with BSM or not.
