I wouldn't redline the engine right off the bat, but you don't have to baby it either. The most important thing is to vary your speed and rpm as much as possible. While the engine may be ready to run, the drivetrain still consists of a bunch of brand new gears whose mating surfaces have not yet 'worn in'. If you use all the gears, for both acceleration and deceleration, and vary your speed, the gears wear in more uniformly and you get a quieter drivetrain. Spend too much time in one gear and speed and you can end up with a car that whines if it's not at that speed.
