C5 Z06 pricing

Hello all,

I've been looking around for a while and trying to keep up with prices on these cars. I plan on purchasing in about a year, if I can find the right car.

How are folks coming up with their prices? Bolt ons usually don't add much value to the car.

Here are some numbers I pulled:

NADA 2002 Z06 40k miles
Lowest being 20.5k and highest being 27.7k / medium 24,100

KBB 2002 Z06 40k miles, private party, 76039
Good condition 23,435

Average between NADA and KBB / $23,767

Does 24k seems cheap for a 2002 Z with about 40k miles? Are people going off these prices? I'm just not sure what to expect.

Thanks for any advice!
Brien

For this time in the season (for me living in Chicago) I wouldn't say that price seems too low at all. With the market for toys not as strong this year as it has been in the past, you can get cars for a little cheaper than you should be able to, esp if its not a high mpg kinda ride. I just got my 02 with 30K miles 2 weeks ago for $24,500 lightly modded. Even though its a buyers market right now if you're looking for a toy car, don't expect to pay anything under 24, I haven't heard of anything going cheaper than that.

That price seems fair. I know alot of folks prefer stock, but I would do simple bolt ons like full exhaust and CAI, so i'd like it to be on there already. Maybe even a cam...

Where did you spot your car? On here?

I'm over in TX, but would be willing to fly there and drive back when I get one.

TY for the post.

01 isn't too bad. A couple bolt ons would get you to the power of a 02+ quickly. I definitely want the HUD though!

That is a very nice price right there though.

There is hope after all!

I found mine on craigslist and it was also on corvetteforum.com Ya just gotta be really patient if you want the great deal. This time of the year is nice to buy if you have a winter season (a real winter, not like 60F winters) because ppl and dealerships are starting to realize if they don't sell within the next few weeks they are stuck because most ppl are reluctant to buy a car they can't drive for another 5 months. You can usually get a nice price drop right about now.

Then again, I didn't just come across my Z06 in a few days. I have trouble pulling the trigger on cars and have been looking for a car since about February.

Prices are all over the place right now, but $24K sounds a bit on the low side even thought the economy is in the toilet and people are giving stuff away.

I have an 02 Z with 15K miles and would never let it go that cheap. In fact, come to think of it, I may just buy another one to mod and have fun with. You are definately getting a lot of car for the money if you can find a Z for $24K.

Yea, KBB only shows at 15k miles in excellent worth 24.7k for private in DFW. I bet your car could fetch you 29k or so. I guess once I look i'll aim for the 24-27 area

I wonder how low they'll eventually get (not that I plan to sell ever ).

$25k - $30k should be a good range, depending on mileage.

Re: C5 Z06 pricing

Today I'm going to pick up my first Corvette ever. It's a QS 2002 Z06 with an unbelievable 1679 ORIGINAL miles. His asking price was $29,000 and he won't dip below $26,500. Nada value is $30,275, KBB is right around $26,500 so I feel I'm getting a fair deal-- especially for a car that is for all intents and purposed, new... It's lived in a climate controlled (here in Hawaii) garage and has been meticulously maintained. I can't wait to pick it up and will post some pics soon

I got my 2003 Z06 back in June. I believe I got a hell of a great price at $ 30K. ONLY 8300 miles on the Odometer!!

A guy I know just traded his for 15K on a new truck. If I had known he was doing it I would have told him to list it here.
