hey guys new to the site. whats up??? i want to get a corvette. i dont know all that much about them so im hear for some help. i have had my heart set on a c5 ZO6. but i have recently been looking at the c6 2005. not the zo6 although if i could afford one i would get that in a heart beat. but anyways a c5 zo6 and a c6 are roughly in the same price range im looking at. but which is better?
each Have 400hp. but doesn't the c6 have better handling? i think c6 also has better interior. but then again i love the looks and how wide the c5z is. and im iffy of the hatch of the c6.... i like the ''sportier'' look of the zo6. plus everywhere i turn there is a c6...unlike a c5zo6.
Just an observation but based on what you've written, you should get the C5Z.
Now, with that being said. I sold my 02Z and got an 05 Z52 6M coupe. The low end power was better on the C6 but lacked what the C5Z has on the top end. The C6 feels like a Cadi in comparison to the C5Z. If you want a firm ride and want to feel the road more, you should go with the C5Z. If you want a nicer ride, go with the C6. I liked both of them and would have a hard time deciding between the two. I did really like being able to blow the top on the C6.
I say go and spend some time in both of them and make your decision. Again, from what I read in your post, I'd say you should get a C5Z.

TONS of info on this...I suggest you try a search. You can't go wrong with either car.

I'm not so sure about that. Everything I've ever read leads me to believe that the C5 Z06 is slightly better. Then again, maybe the non-runflats make all the difference. Either way, both cars are extremely fast around a track.
Most people will tell you that the C5 Z06 has a more satisfying "rawness" to it. More of a adrenaline-inducing race car feel, less of a gliding luxury car feel. However, don't misunderstand what I'm saying; the C6 does NOT drive like a bloated luxury car. As Norman said, you'll have to drive both to make up your mind.
Good luck.

I've had the 03 Z, have driven the C6 and now own the C6Z. The C5Z is still on my mind and is hands down the only choice btwn the two your considering. If my car the C6Z was gone tomorrow I would buy and 03 or 04 Z no doubt about it! It's a great cool fun car for the money. The C6 is boring. The c6Z is an Animal and that overshadows everything else!! Plus it is a bit more refined and comfortable. Go for the c5z you won't regret it. Jim

Funny thing is that's the first thing that came to mind when I got behind the wheel of a C6 - it was just too compliant, quiet and refined for my taste
good. i am hearing what i want lol. i will prob end up with a c5z...unless somehow i can afford a c6z....which i dont see happening. maybe in a few years ill upgrade. for now the c5z will do. undecided if it will be my DD cause i have an 02 Subaru WRX right now paid off and loving it but in about 6 to 12 months i will be able to afford a c5z and idk if i have room for 2 cars. plus i want to buy a harley. we will see.

Well, considering that video you made of the cam lope and cup of water...I'm not at all surprised.
I own a 2003 Z06 and Love the car. I worked at a Chevy Dealership and could have bought a C6 if I wanted. I stuck with my C5 Z06. In the future I think a C5 Z06 in good condition will be worth more than a C6 Coupe. The reason is lower production numbers, a rare body style and the last of the great sounding factory exh. system. I was told by my chevy rep that the C5 Z06 barley pasted factory sound specs, and that they will never build a factory car with that much exh. sound again. I love the way C5 Z06's rumble, very much like a 60"s muscle car.
