Are C5's outdated

What would you guys say about the C5 body style, is it dated? now that the C6's have been out for a while and the upcoming release of the C7, the C5 seems ancient, however to me the sleek styling still matches up with other modern cars so I would say its NOT dated, but I’ve heard others say it is.

what do you guys think.

Yes. Whenever a new model comes out, it automatically dates the previous model. That is not to say it doesn't look good anymore. Look at a C2, very dated but they still get the looks.

Keep em looking good and people will still admire them for years to come.

Re: Are C5's outdated

To me, the C5 now looks too long and has too much overhang. The C6 looks much tidier, especially in certain colors. It looks more sporting, and a little less cruiser-like, than the C5. In that way, the C5 looks dated to me.

I have owned 2 C5Zs, however, and when I had them, I loved the way they looked.

Re: Are C5's outdated

Yeah ... it's dated ... but so am I!
Best thing about the C6Z visually are the fender flares ... really "complete" the C6 design IMHO
But I'm fine with the distinctive profile of the Z among C5's ...
So I'll stay with yesterday's news.

Re: Are C5's outdated

I fell in love with the c5 the first time I saw it. Mine is 6 years old and I still like the looks. The c6 zo6 is some colors has really grown on me but I still love the c5.

Re: Are C5's outdated

I always saw the C6 body like a modified C5. Not enough changes to make it a new C#. That was disappointing. Nevertheless both C5 and C6 looks good and turns heads.

The C5 has been out for 11 years. Of course it looks outdated. However, I can name a gazillian other cars that are also outdated, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches (how many years has the styling of the 911 remained relatively unchanged?), and so on. Outdated doesn't necessarily mean unattractive.

New designs, on the other hand, are almost always considered sexy just because they're unfamiliar and fresh. Now that I think of it, there are several "outdated" cars that I prefer over the fresh new models.

Re: Are C5's outdated

Even if you think for some reason the body looks "dated" I still think they are easier to drive fast. The rear is not nearly as squirrelly for the less advanced drivers.

great arguments guys, I totally agree with you here, the new C6 just doesnt have enough changes to make the C5 look out of place. Unlike when the C5 came out, I think that made the C4 look really dated, just cause of the C4's more squarish lines

I still think the C5 is a beautiful car.....regardless of how long it's been out. Just like the older Gen 1 and Gen 2 Vipers, older Ferrari's, Lambos etc..... a good looking car is a good looking car, be it new or old.

This sum's up what I was thinking. But I don't think the styling is quite outdated. Mercedes and a couple other cars seem to date themselves rather quickly.

I think the C5 Z will always be classic. I think the C5 Z screams for an upgrade to larger brakes/wheels and a corrected ride height.
