can't get the time of day from a moderator on CF....

I sometimes go "there" to browse the Z06 section.....a few months ago,I applied for a password.....my info was accepted and I was told I would receive a password directly.......never came. So,I was over there last weekend and thought I would try again.....put my info in...I get the message"s/n I want is "taken"...probably because of my earlier submission for a password. OK,so I send Troy a request that he or some one look into the problem I'm having...here it is Fri....not a peep,nada,zip,zilch....I was polite when I sent my Email to Troy, never even mentioned I was a member here,first..just,can you please look into this..
So.....would some one who was a member here first apply for a password?.....because I would HATE to think that I was denied access to another website solely because of the feud that he has with the moderators on THIS website......that would be in my opinion.....pretty damn sorry.....not to mention paranoia on a grand scale. I know that this will be read by the people in question.....how about the favor a at least an Email reply....even to tell me that I can't be a member here and there.....well,what about it?

Many of our members are members there also. Not sure why they are not reponding to you. Troy wouldn't stop you from being a member there just because you are a member here. 70boss302 is also having a password conflict with them. I really haven't got a clue.

I had the same type problem on the LS1/LS6 forum... I finally gave up and decided I didn't need to be a member of still another forum, even though I still go there occasionally to browse. Makes one really appreciate Z06Vette.com!

Guy's probably a glitch..........
Try again and use a new handle & see if you get a password sent to you.
If that works, then you will know it is their system...

I don't think Troy exists!

I couldn't get help from him when I had a problem with one of their moderators, he never responded to my many polite, professional e-mails. Just as well, this Forum is much better for
Z06 Info anyway!

just keep trying... most likely a mistake/glitch. i highly doubt he would turn away business because they are members of other sites... i think the paranoia taken to the grand scale come from the people that post this kind of stuff.

yes, things at one time have gotten hot between moderators of each forums and we have all seen the number of posts exchanged between them publicy.

but, lately... do you ever see a moderator from here or there start these kind of posts? i really haven't. if there has been that i don't know of, it is safe to say it is an extrememly rare exception.

for those that frequent the "other" site... do you see how often someone posts about "this" site and stir things up? i can't remember myself. how about on this site? too often in my opinion.

maybe they lock those types of posts and i keep missing them. so be it. i actually think that's a good idea because it does no good for the board, it's disrespectful to the other board, and it's bad form and makes the people that "represent" their board and the board themselve look bad.

... and it keeps the fires burning...

I've seen Frank post there now and then. I've seen FUBU and Z06LS6 post there. What's the big deal? I'VE SEEN RAM AIR TONY POST HERE! I shit my pants when I saw that and wondered if hell froze over! It's a beautiful thing... brings tears to my eyes.

I honestly don't like some of the rules they have over there... I admit it. Oh well... I can live with it.

If you don't like the "other board" and don't want to post, your choice. IMO, your loss because there is a lot of content there and a lot of traffic.

Have you checked out the parts section? People selling LS6 engines for $4k, LS6 P&P heads for a couple of k... A barely used set of Borla Stingers for $50 bucks!!! And if 16Again wasn't so quick on the trigger you lucky DOG (which he happens to be a member here), I would have snatched them up! Deals happening all the time and great info about possible single turbos coming up over there and so much other stuff.

I'm happy to say that I participate in the "other" forum... faults and all. I'm happy to say that I participate here too. But I am with Frank... I wish these posts would just go away because they do no good... if anything it makes us look like whiners/bad sports ,whatever you wanna call it... makes us look bad.

Peace.
Don

The difference is, you don't have to say the "Other Forum" here. You can type in www.corvetteforum.com here and the name will not change.

Try typing www.z06vette.com sucks over there and see what happens. Second thought, you better not, they will ban you.

well, i can understand that... i found out that you can't type it too in IM.

you know what though... we did vent about it in the Z06 section. a couple of the mods even posted on the thread and let the thread live because it was rather civil... so it's not all bad.

i don't like all the rules... but thems the rules. hey, i shoot from the hip when i post regardless of which site i'm posting on... I'm not up to 47% user rating for nuttin

...but these type of posts do no good but keep the fires burning.

And again... that's an issue with policy that the people there will argue about now and then... and you get that here too (not that often though).

But it's not the "us versus them" type post that I was talking about.

i'm not a moderator... i don't know everything that's transpired between the CFgods and the Z06vettegods that led up to whatever is left between the two that we see under a veil of civility (a very thin veil I might add). Just that when it all started, bridges were burned and thems the rules no matter how much i don't like em.
