"Check Engine Light - Air System Bank 2-B"

Hello All,

Had a quick question hoping you guys would be able to help.

My check engine light came on this morning and the code states, "10 PCM P1416 HC" - "Air system bank 2-b".

Was wondering if this is something important.....Or is it something I can reset myself? If so, how? Don't really have enough time to go to make it to the dealership today. Hope it's nothing serious....

Thanks

Reset it and see if it comes back.

With the key on hold down the options button and at the same time hit the fuel button 4 times. This will start the automatic diagnosis, hit the reset button and it will bypass the auto and put you in manual. As the # of codes is displayed hold the reset button until it clears the code or codes. If you want to read the codes first press the gages button. To scroll to the next codes use the option button. When you are done press the E/M button and it will clear the DIC or turn the key off.

Sounds like you have an O2 sensor going bad...

Now all the sudden the "check engine light" is off on the way to work this morning...?? I did not reset anything.
Should I still take in to the dealer and have them take a look at it or just wait for it to come on again?

That's so odd. This happened to me yesterday! I did not check the codes because I had forgotten how to read them on the DIC.. (Thanks Tom!)

I would like to clear them all because the last time I did this, many had the "H" flag (I think) which meant it happened in the past but is not reoccurring. I'd like to get rid of those since they aren't current errors.

Sho nuff, PCM P1416. How ironic is that?

So Air System Bank 2B is the second passenger side O2 sensor?
