Dave Hill Exclusive: C6, Please Read!

Just received my January issue of "Automobile" magazine. Page 37 has a web exclusive with Dave Hill about the upcoming C6!

Automobile: How is the C6 going to improve on the C5?

Dave Hill: It was a real daunting challenge, I gotta tell you. We're going to make it like the C5 except more so. More passionate design, moe performance, just as much room on the inside, and maybe a little tidier on the outside. And we're going to take care of every last thing that people are not totally satisifed with. We believe that we know that list backward and forward, and we're going to eliminate everything that is not totally satisfying in the C5.

Remember, you heard it here FIRST!

Part of quote from thrill Hill..............

Owwwww........Man that hurt!!!!!!!!.......that fish hook......whew...........

Now, if they would just do this WITH our C5's, wouldn't that be sweet???.
No, they are gonna make you bust out another $55/65k....to get it........

Hate to sound a little cynical, but.....3 years, into the Z's, and 6 going on 7 with the C5's......

Me thinks ( knows) man speak with forked tounge.........

How about FIXING what your making NOW, before taking care of people who haven't invested a dime ...............

Awesome interview!

Thanks Mr. Zippy

Don't forget to vote for the corvette at automobile magazines readers poll..

Corvette is the number one sports car!

I would suggest it wasn't a coincidence Dave Hills C6 discussion is on line at the same time..

Do Dave Hill a favor and vote for the Corvette!

Automobile magazine "best sports car" is truly an advantage when advertising for Corvette..and it helps GM realize..PERFORMANCE SELLS!

Tipical propoganda, what do you expect him to say, he is trying to sell vehicles here. I am sure it will be nice but it won't be without problems.

Heres an interesting excerpt..(sp)

25% thats huge! Pretty cool ..I didn't realize that it was that high..

---------

.

The Z06 kinda breathed new life into the C5 halfway through its lifetime because here was a car that really optimized for the total performance enthusiast, someone willing to trade off some creature comforts to get total performance, but it remains a car that's very easy to drive and very quick but very safe and easy to use as a daily driver if you don't live in Minnesota. The Z06 has been real successful. It started out at 15 percent and has grown to a 25 percent share.

The Corvette might not be the absolute quickest car in this measurement here or that measurement there, but when you take it all together, the Z06 does many things very well, and on a track, lap after lap, it's the car that's gonna turn in the quickest total time and be easier on the driver doing so. So it's a very well rounded car, very high performance car. But that's total performance, not just straight-line. And it's also a terrific value. So we've been really pleased.

I don't believe it to be typical propoganda..I think its a well executed plan to get you guys who like the Corvette to vote for the Corvette as The Best Sports Car in Automobile Readers Poll

Lets face it..the bigger the Halo is that the Corvette shines on GM the easier it is to get things past management..(or bean counters)

Vote if you want an even better corvette... (I'm just fooling around)

Of course there used to be a mentality inside GM that used to say..why change..the thing is selling as it is..so lets save the money..

Thankfully those days are pretty much gone in this overly competitive market.

Do you guys and gals think they will offer 0% financing on the C6? I hope so! Just as I'll have my '03 paid off, since I'm used to the payment....and of course not to have a "Slow" antiquated Z...I guess it will never end and I'll wind up giving my slow old '03 Z to my grandson... When I get one!

Please excuse the sarcasm. I do love my car...what was the number to Breathless?
