Originally posted by SCS At restaurants, YES. But you must know HOW to valet. If the cost of the valet is say $5.00, slide the guy a $20 and tell him to keep the change and take care of your car. It's well worth the investment and it will be parked RIGHT OUT FRONT!!!!!
Money talks and bulls--t walks.....Big tip.... leave it up front and take the keys.....everyone is happy

I never valet park my cars, any of them, if there is any way to avoid it. If I absolutely must valet park I take a beater. I just don't like anyone driving my cars. Call it a personal quirk if you will, but that is the way I am. I own and have restored several cars, including a couple of "classic" Corvettes, and therefore worry excessively about "originality," including things like factory paint jobs and like to keep all my cars as factory original as possible.
Originally posted by dminnick I haven't yet, but I would if necessary. I even let friends drive it. I figure its just car. They'll make more. I bought it to drive and take to the track. A valet won't be able to drive any harder than I do.
I ask to park up front in 'valet' spot myself.. and give valet $10 to watch it, keep keys. At the dealer, wrote the mileage on the service slip in front of the writer/manager, told him no one but he or Viper Tech drives.

I don't have my Z yet (next week) but whenever I take one of my Vipers out for dinner ( I didn't mean buying dinner for my Viper!!) the valets always let me park it in an open space right in front. They just assume I don't want them to park it and are cool about it. I usually pay them a decent tip just to keep an eye on it for me. I expect the Z will be similar. If they ever insisted on parking it for me I would leave, but this hasn't happened yet.

I have fun meeting all the people. I hate when I don't make any money. I hate working just off tips on slow nights. I like getting $20 tips and driving nice cars. And when women who are wearing skirts get out of SUV's and forget to keep there legs closed. :-)

I think we found a valet who likes upskirts! Which begs to question, should we tell our wives to flash the valet and consider that his tip? Maybe ask him for a dollar for the free peep show.

Nope, no way, never...and it has nothing to do with money, etc. I take care of my 'vettes in a particular way...no one drives my Z06/Z07 but me, no one.
Me and my son are the only people driving my Z. I would never take it somewhere that would require a valet. I would never let someone get behind the wheel of a 500+ hp car with out knowing them very very well. And i would need to be holding something he really valued. Besides I have other cars for a night out like that. Like my wife's car for one. Hehehe
