Hasn't been a very good week for my Z, after moving the car to a rat free location, I get through work early today and decide to try to remove the small burnish marks that the cover caused in the finish. I walk into the hanger and the right rear is flat (did I mention only 700 miles on the car?) so I eventually get the tire off and bring it to the local Goodyear dealer who is the only tire shop on the island. He informs me that not only does he not stock the tire but he doesn't have the type of machine that can remove it from the rim. So I call around to tire dealers off island and locate one who can have the tire by tomorrow, but of course I can't get ferry reservations for tomorrow. I guess I'll be rolling a tire onto the boat and hand carrying it to the mainland (we keep a car on the other side, thank God!
It seems that I cut the side wall when I bumbed a curb while parking (1mph max) not a scratch on the rim. Seems like a pretty weak sidewall. I have read posts where people have hit curbs at speed and ruined tires, but parking the car? Ah the joys of living in paradise!
