Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires

Are any members running this tire in a 275/40/17-front,295/35/18-rear combo? I do not want any problems with AH-TC since the front tire is a little taller than stock.

I am running that size tire in a Kumho with no problems.

I have not tried them, but if you do a search, I have read that the side walls are not very confidence inspiring when hard cornering or in transition manuevers

That is a very combination for Auto-x even in street tire class. I chose the MX's due to price and I have had good luck with the tires. The stock GY served me well though. I almost bought another set but with the 275 fronts.

I have had the GSD3's for a few months now and have not had any problems with AH-TC. I did notice a difference in traction in straight line traction (for the better) with the GSD3's. As far as handling, they have been great, but have not taken them on a road coarse yet. The back end does not kick out as much as they did with the Goodyear supercar tires. Hope that helps.

I had a set of these tires on my old Mustang (245/45R17). Worst set of "high performance" tires I've ever owned. The sidewalls suck (which is why the drag-only crowd thinks they're great but eveyone who drives hard through the corners knows otherwise).

I'm running with Kumhos with that same tire size up front. No problems.

The GSD3s won the recent Car and Driver hi-po tire test, for what it's worth.

'Dis is America, man! We don't do none a dat fancy-shmancy "driving through corners" round dese parts! That's for 'dem quiche-eatin' furrign-types! Yer sayin' the 1/4 ain't everything? You some kinda commie 'er sumptin?

(Ok, maybe there are a few of us... but man, you'd hardly know it based on the number of people who buy one of the best handling mid priced sports cars in the world, and never seem to care about anything except driving it in a straight line. It's amazing how often I open a thread titled "can I beat car XYZ", when all they're talking about is driving in a straight line. My mission in life is to ridicule this particular bit of American automotive culture until it changes, or I die, whichever comes first - and yeah, I know which is gonna come first )

Blackrazor, you should provide a little more info on the setup you were running that gave you the wobbly feeling. I can say that I have these on my car now and they are the best tire I have had. Toyo RA1's recently came off but both have been run at Pacific Raceways which is a 2.25 mile road course with good elevation changes. The D3's are right there with the RA1's which are a track tire.
