Great experience on sunday..

While driving down to PA, I passed roughly 4 corvettes... A Z06, a 65ish convertible, a 63 split window, and a 70s vette (sorry, I nothing about the vettes from the 70s)... What I thought was awesome was that every single driver waved.. I figured the older vette owners would look down upon the newer vettes, but nope, they were just as friendly as the Z owner.. Pretty cool to see a car nearly twice your age rolling down the street with the driver wearing a grin nearly as large as yours.. One thing is for sure, my dad is nearly as happy as I am to see the Corvette in the garage.. And his cousin (who had a 55 at my age) told him that he had to drive my car when he found out I got the Z.. Not too sure anyone will be getting behind the wheel aside from my dad who I know is dying to get behind the wheel..

Definitely a great experience.. Ive already been told by two of my neighbors that they've wanted a vette their whole life (Guess the Misses won't allow it).. Definitely not a comment I got with the TT..

That's awesome. Since I got my c6, I've waved at about 10 vettes and only got 2 return waves.

You will find that almost all the Vette owners on the road will give the wave. This is a family i've belonged to for almost 35 years, and it still puts a big smile on my face. Glad you have enjoyed your Z ownership so far and think you will be hooked for life on the best American Sports Car.\

Im definitely loving it right now, my friends dad has been a corvette owner since he was my age and I ended up getting the same exact car as him (a LeMans edition).. Which is actually pretty cool because we now trade mod ideas.. Actually, Im just stealing all his mod ideas, but he is certainly getting a kick out of it.. =) He was actually pretty happy when he saw that I got a LeMans..

Unfortunately, around here very few Corvette owners know about the wave. It doesn't matter if I am in my '71 or the Z, most other Corvette drivers don't wave.

With about 2000 vettes in Eureka Springs this weekend, I've about waved my arm off lately.

I was in another car, but I was watching vettes at Eureka Springs, and I didn't see one single wave when I was there.

I was in Eureka Springs this past weekend and got about 70% return wave factor.

Norman, I bet it's cause they can't recognize it. There seem to be a lot of Vettes that are leased in TX. As if the car wasn't a keeper.

The only time I don't bother to wave is when they obviously don't see me. I get many returned waves. Hell, I return waves from people who aren't driving Vettes. LOL

Also noticed another thing. When I scoot around in my econo-box, I get a lot less respect on the road. People pass and cut into my lane w/o signaling and all the ricers out there like to pull up and rev at me.

I think I'm going to sneak a turbo'd 4G63 in the Kia with a decent sized turbo. Next time I get a Civic or whatever else with one of those huge buzzy-fart-pipes rolling up on me, I'll sound the blow-off valve and let slip the gerbils of war!!!

I was thinking that since you have the new C6, it may take awhile for us vette owners to recognize the difference from a distance from that of some other car, ie: mitsubishi etc..
I would gladly wave if you were around here and possibly ask for a ride.
