Gumball Rally Update-Z06 Forum Member Racing Ruf Turbo Porsche

I am waiting for an email from Sean Reis (MXRacer), but talk about an excited guy.

A little background. Sean is a customer of Halltech that is now a good friend. This happens alot in this great circle of Z06 enthusiasts.

He was one of two forum members that purchased our STinger XR package about 2 months ago. Borla used his car to dial in the headers, and we used Sean's car for the dyno pulls for before and after on the STinger headers. (Trying not to make this a sales pitch, but it's hard for me).

Sean was in Santa Fe, New Mexico went he called.

"Jim, you won't believe this!" I have been in a group of participants the whole trip, that read like a Road and Track report: Two Modena Ferraris, and F50 Ferrari, a Ruf Turbo, and Saleen Musty, a 926 Porsche (I'm not sure if this is the model) and he named a few more.

Sean and this group were cruising at 175 mph, the F50 at 180 plus when the F-50 was busted on radar. I thing this was the second bust, and the police towed the car away.

Now this: Sean told me he raced the Ruf Turbo Porsche (525 HP)
from a second gear rollon and stayed right with him through third, but fourth gear the turbos sang goodby.

When they stopped the guy in the Porsche asked him what he had done to the engine, and Sean told him "bolt ons only". The Porsche guy said, "no way is that a stock engine!" (Warning: Sales pitch again)

This story is being repeated by a very tired person at 11:43 at night, so if some of the details got screwed up, Sean will deliver the full story very soon.

GOOD LUCK FROM THE FORUM!!!!!

Jim Hall

180MPH ticket is gonna hurt!

Where did this occur around Santa Fe? I'm in Albuquerque and I'd hate to think I missed those things going by.

Yeah, I saw that Ruf turbo here in Nashville...it was sick!

The word tow and F50 just hurt to say in the same sentence.

"Sean and this group were cruising at 175 mph, the F50 at 180 plus when the F-50 was busted on radar."

With what did the police chase down a 180 mph F50, a Maclaren F1?

Andy, you are absolutely right, it was Kyle. He was very fast and nobody else including the yellow Porsche could keep up with us. He definitely had an edge on me. Those guys from Texas were alot of fun and haul A$$.

Jim was a little confused on some issues of the story. When I get home tonight I will fill everyone in on what happened
