Hey guys , so my headlights wont go down when I go to switch them off. I can hear a clicking sound coming from both headlight motors..When I removed the rubber boots off the motors, I can see the clicking sound is coming from the little wheels or whatever they are , spinning slowly.. This is an intermittent issue because sometimes they will go down when I switch them off, but lately its been happening alot where they will just stay up with the clicking sound accompanied.
common problem after 10 years or so - C4s use the same motors - repair is to replace the three plastic dowel pins which serve as a "fuse" but deteriorate with age.
All the aftermarket Vette suppliers sell the repair kits. You probably do not have to replace the gears; disassemble a motor first to see what's needed.
