Help Advice needed

I'm torn between trading in my 95 c4 for 04 zo6 or keep my 95 and drop a 427 engine by Lingenfelter. Site sponsors-dealers are going the get crazy by this june-july
(according to reliable sources in the forum ).
I'm losing sleep because of the thought that I have to forgo a 427 in my garage for a real nice 04 z06.

With 04 z06, the mod fever will be unleashed until I get 500rwhp.
With my 95 having 427 I won't get mod fever, right?
thanks

HP isn't everything unless the 1/4 mile is your thing.
Given the numerous other improvements from the C4 to C5, I'd start with the newer car and work from there.

Had a C4 LT4 and this is my second C5. I would definately go with the '04!!
Too many other improvements in the Z06 over the C4 to consider. I hate seeing you miss out on the 427 (if that's your only option) but I still think you'll be happier.

Mike

How about moving up to a C-5 and mod it? I don't know of anyone with C-4 and C-5 experience who wishes to go back to a C-4. As for C-5's, lots of low mileage, babied, used ones for a good deal less than new, and if you're going to extensively mod it anyway, start used and apply the depreciation $$$ to your mods budget. Just a thought...
Good luck with whatever route you choose.

You are asking a very biased crowd here . Given the refinements of the C5 over the C4, I would think it would be worth moving on up.

I had a 96 LT4. Now an 03 Z. No comparison. The difference in ride is fantastic.

k buy a used 02... and drop a 427 in it.. that will get you 500 within your original budget and would be defintley better than your c4 dont you think so?

I have a Torch Red '95 Coupe parked in the garage next to my Torch Red '04 Z06. I do love the feel of the '95 ... BUT it can't hold a candle to the feel and driving experience of the Z ... period!
Look for a nice low mileage '02 Z and mod to your hearts content. The Z gets more respect and few people notice the C4's and even fewer would appreciate the 427 (and beefed up drivetrain to match) you'd have in the car.

Just my .02

Sold a pair of 96 GS's to buy my 04, no comparison. Go with the 04 and enjoy the upgrade to a beast that handles and rides light years ahead.

I couldn't agree more with your c4 experiences.
I know my way around the engine bay and the car when tooling around.

Good points guys. Thanks for the advice.
I think I'm leaning towards an o2 z06+427
best,
joe
