I'm on my way home for lunch this afternoon at a stop sign and BANG! some airhead in a red volvo smacks the back of my 3 month old Z! Anyway, it looks as if one of the license plate bolts on her front bumper punctured the rear fascia right above the left rear muffler vent. So I need some advice on the following:
1. Does anyone know of any good body shops in Southern New Jersey?
2. Can't the entire rear fascia be removed and replaced? If so, how much do you think it costs to replace?
You can be assured I am not paying a single dollar to get this fixed. It is coming out of this woman's husbands pocket!!!
The rear facia can be removed. I know some members have replaced their facia with one from RK. Cost wise I would guess around $1500 not counting the painting expenses.
Maybe $2200 total????
Spector Werkes, a supporting vendor of Z06VETTE.COM, offers a great looking rear facia for C5 Vettes. Just click their banner on the left side of this page and it will link you to their website.
Coming from a background in auto claims. Be nice to the adjuster you speak to and it will get you very far. Don't demand anything but suggest or request...
Definately go to a few local shops and don't settle for 2nd best shop. Find someone that is interested in doing a good job, not a fast one.
Good Luck.

Based on what I have observed during the investigation of many rear end accidents, and the behavior that I have most often observed, I believe the correct answer is - hold the back of your neck with one arm, don't speak, AND SCREAM EVERY TIME SOMEONE TOUCHES YOU.

As soon as I read your post I was thinking, "Spector Werkes". Turn lemons into lemonade you might say. Their rear facias look so . Do the headlights while your at it. Good luck.

Had the same thing happen to me, but luckily the bitch was only doing about 2 MPH when she hit. No damage whatsoever and believe me I checked it out thoroughly. I guess those bumpers do work on occasion.
