Your dealer can pull up your build date thru the sequence # and TPW. You can also order a Build Sheet from the NCM that will show the date it started down the line. On my build sheet it shows 12/05 as the date started and mine was finished on 12/08. Normal time is 3-4 days to be built from beginning.
Good Luck
I have my build sheet and I was wondering where you can tell your production number.
My sequence number is 000001 No really it is 029983. Is that the sequence mine was built and since there were only 8,000+ 2003 Z06's, that must include all 2003 C5's, right?
Probably the quickest way to get a fairly accurate build date is to find one of the sequence labels. You can add 3 days to the date printed on there, and you would be +/- 1 day off. The variance comes from where they stopped the assembly line and where your car was. Some 'vettes are built in 1 calendar day....... others take two.
You can find one of these behind the passenger side carpeted kickplate (where the computer is located) Look on the back of the carpeted panel, and you will see a production date for that item. I'm not sure who actually prints these, but on 5 different 'vettes I've checked, these dates were 3 days before the actual build day.
JoeS, go by the build sheet and add 3-4 days on that. On my build sheet it is listed as 12/ 8/03 and was final build date of 12/11/03. It was then delivered to dealer on 12/21/03, but they rushed to get all cars delivered before holiday shutdown. I would not hold much stock in the dealer. I found out more info from 1FastDog on the site about my Sequence# and TPW that my dealer had no clue about. You say your build sheet says 5/29/01 and add 3-4 days, about June 1 should have been built.and arrived at the dealer on the 21. This sounds about right to me on a time frame, Hope this helps, Jack
Would you want a car built on a Friday afternoon or on a Monday morning? Supposedly it is better to find a car built on a Tuesday through Thursday. It probably doesn't matter on a Corvette I would hope. That is what the Lemon Law is for.
