How to remove rear view mirror?

I have a new mirror ready to go in place. Can anyone tell me how to remove the old one?

Thanks,

Adam

Loosen the Torx screw in the center of the mounting block, then slide the mirror assembly up and off the mounting block that is permanently affixed to the windshield.

I have on 01, and there isn't a Torx screw in the center of the mounting bracket. Instead there is a spring clamp that affixes the mirror assembly to the mounting bracket. The manuel tells you to grip the mirror firmly with 2 hands and rock it side to side while applying pressure upward to slide the assembly off the mounting bracket. You will hear an audible click when the spring clamp lets go. I haven't tried this yet, but will when I hard wire the Valentine1 and glue in its mirror mounting bracket.

Oops! I forgot that they changed in 2001 and up. My instructions were for C5 97 to 2000 :bang:

So basically, there are no screws or anything. I just wiggle it up and off?

Yes. You can see the retaining nubs on the spring clamp through the windshield. Caution here is the smart money!
