I am finally part of the club!

First off, just wanted to say thanks to all the members that helped me in finding my new Z (especially iispms).

I just bought an 02 QS Z06 with 13,500 miles in Denton, TX at James Wood Auto Park. Price was $32,600.

I love this car! I am brand new to the Vette world and have driven/raced a 1998 Mustang Cobra in the past.
This car is on a whole different level!

So here is my list of what I plan to do right now and some questions:

1. Andy's Partition with QS plexiglass insert and Z06 emblem
2. Shifter - So what shifter is the most highly recommended? I have seen Hurst, Kirban, B&M, and Breathless
performance listed. Also, has anyone installed some Dynomat or other sound deadener to eliminate extra road
noise with shifter?
3. Aluminum Gauge Bezels - Found these at Vette Essentials for $98.
4. Billet Shorty Antenna - 9" from PYFC
5. Skip Shift Eliminator
6. Steering wheel decal
7. Raptor Shift Light - Who all carries these? The only one I could find was at Corvette Garage for $90.
8. Headlight Bulbs - Which ones, PIAA or Sylvania Silverstars?

That should get me started for now. I also am trying to decide between A&A rocker panels or jacking pucks.

As for my first oil change, I was planning to use the NAPA (Wix) filter and Mobil1 5W30. Sound right?
And what are the recommended spark plugs and wires? Do I even need to change them now?

Also have questions about cleaning. What soap, sponge and drying cloth is the most recommended? I do plan to
use some Zaino and clay bar shortly.

Any info or advice from anyone will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and sorry for the long post, but I am giddy like a kid!!!

Mike

P.S. So who wants to help me with a sig?

Congrats on the new ride & welcome to the site
If you do searches on some of your questions (i.e., "shifter") you will find lots of good info.

Mike,
Welcome to the club! Congrats on the new ride.

Of your above list, I have used the B&M Ripper shifter and was very happy with it and I did skip shift about a week after buying the car. Can't comment on the rest.

As for oil and filter, I have switched to AMSOIL and become the forum vendor as an Independent AMSOIL Dealer. Take my opinions as somewhat biased. Others will vary...

Congrats and Welcome! It sounds like you are well on your way to the joys of Vette ownership. Your list looks pretty complete, but I can add Mallett to your list of shifters. From what I hear everyone likes them except for maybe the price. Also I would get the pucks. I saw a thread just the other day on a member here who has them at a very reasonable price.
Get some pics up soon so we all can see your new baby.

Welcome to Club Z06 and Welcome Aboard the Good Ship Z06 the best forum on the net.

Congrats on your NEW RIDE.

Here's a couple of free mods
Remove the Body Side Moldings (if so equipped)
Shorten the Antenna yourself. Save your money very easy to do.
Lower the car 15MN max for stock bolts.

These will cost.
Hurst shifter with the Jub Jub mod.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys. Well it took me 21 hours to start modding. I left 21CMC yesterday with a Partition with QS insert and Z06/405 emblem, billet shorty antenna, and I also had them edit out the skip shift so I don't have to get under the car. I am still contemplating some other things but I am still so pumped about the car. Thanks for all the suggestions! I will keep everyone posted as I mod the car!
