I just traded in my 04 GTO for an 01 Z06. Coming from the GTO this definetly feels like a nice step up. The car pulls like a freight train compared to the GTO! I used to be a member on the ls1gto.com forum and they led me to you guys. Here is a link to my new car.
You will love the Z .. ... It is slim and trim compared to the shall we say hefty GTO..it is a whole lot more hot rod than the goat too..welcome aboard..

It's stock they all sound like that
Thanks everyone! Anything I need to worry about with the 01's? I looked at the FAQ's and read about oil consumption. Mine also sounds like it may have that piston slap issue...it's a little clacky at idle. How are these cars supposed to idle? Mine seems a little on the rough side but after it warms up it seems like that goes away. Are the 02's with the 405hp noticably faster than the 01 with the 385?
Thanks again!

Don't think there's much in it to be honest. Make a few mods, and you'll more than make up for it.
Congratulations on the Z and welcome to
Fortunately, you got the fastest color, so you'll outrun any 02-04 not QS :pp:
Don't look back ... car looks pristine and should be good to go. Get a service history printout on it to find out what it's been in for.
enjoy the ride!

FYI the '01 Z06 has 385 hp - your badges say Z06 405 hp.
i looked at the photos from the dealer - you might want to
question the dealer about the changes.
