Legally ran thru stop signs & a red light!

Drove my car in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in San Diego today. It's the Biggest St. Patrick's Parade West of the Mississippi.

Police escorted us from the set up area to the parade line. We got to go thru a red light and several stops signs, all with the cops waiving us to hurry up and go through. If you get a chance to take your vette into a parade, do it, it's a blast.

Last night I spent 3 hours detailing the crap out of her and on the way to the parade set up area it rained for about 1/4 mile.

Good thing I brought towels and a bottle of Zaino Z6.
Luckily it turned out to be a beautiful day. More Pics of the Vette's & Parade here

parades are always a blast , nothing beats good weather and a crowd of well wishers waving to you as you cruise by.

Thx2.net. those black bumble bee stripes look awesome on your car. Would you post a better picture for us? Parades are more fun when your in them rather than waiting for one to pass! Bill

In one of the bad areas of Rockaway Beach, NY (near where that American Airlines plane crashed) you can legally go through stop signs and red lights, and everyone does. The reason is if you stop at night, you have a very good chance of getting car jacked there.

You can go through the red lights in front of the police and they won't stop you - they know the situation. Needless to say, I would never drive the vette anywhere near there!

Bill,

Thanks, I really like how the car looks now, I think I'm done with appearance mods, but one never knows. Check the Banner Pics forum - I posted a couple with the whole car. You can also see a bunch of pics on my site - Click Here

Corvettes and parades

The last time I had a Corvette in a parade was about 17 years ago: my best friend was dating the parade queen and wanted to us my 71 vert to "put her on display" the right way. Well, I am waiting for my car watching the parade sitting on a 5th wheel trailer, and the car never goes by!

Turns out some jack ass rear-ended my vette while waiting in line to start the parade.

Despite that single experience, if I get a chance to by in one...I am in!

Well, that was my supercharged Vette. I never got the new Z06 until Nov. This spring I am going to get some good pics of them together.

Sounds like Boston where red lights have no meaning at all.
