Re: Living On.

Bought my 03 new, has around 5700 miles on her now, keeping her for my son. He wants me to keep the miles low. Some day I will give him the car. It will be 10 to 15 years, and have under 40,000 miles. Hope we still have gas. I love the car.

I see no point in letting them sit. I want to have fun. You only live once so you might as well live!

Re: Living On.

I love mine alot and couldn't be happier when I found it. $5K off blue book to sell fast, and in the 4+ years I have had it, I have never seen another 2000 White Fixed Roof Coupe to date.

That is why it should be in great demand when I send it to Barret Jackson vs the new ZR1.

(Not to mention, cheaper)

Re: Living On.

The first 2 1/2 years I had my Z I was traveling every week for work. I drove rental cars all week while my Z sat in the garage at home I had such a blast on weekends when I finally got to drive it, which made it that much harder not to miss it during the week. I swore then that if I ever got off the road I would drive it as much as possible and enjoy it. I now drive it often and enjoy the hell out of it. I still think it is "too much fun" to drive in a "spirited" manner. I could never intentionally let it just sit. You only live once.

I just don't get it. I mean, it's a car. Cars are driven. That's what they're for.

I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but please explain this to me. What good is owning one that just sits there?

Would you buy a boat and never get it wet? Grill steak and not eat it? Get a dog and never play fetch? Marry a supermodel and never...?

there is a famous corvette collection (rogers corvettes)
he has maybe 7 vettes ..all super rare .some of them have only 3 miles
on them alot of them have never been dealer prepped..
If you have to ask why , you will never understand...
I do drive mine..I know what the 405 power feels like , I just dont have to drive it everyday..
I dont own anything ..Im just a caretaker of the legend...

Sorry bro, I have to disagree. From your post above stating that you have a 2002 Z and you've only put 600 miles on it...that ain't driving, that's just breaking in

Re: Living On.

On a rare low production older car like a C1, C2, C3 I could see it..but there is no such thing as a rare C5..they will never appreciate in our life time...they will continue to depreciate...that is why mine gets driven often and hard..it puts a smile on my face everytime it hits the red line(6800 rpm) and I bang another gear..I do not plan on ever selling this one it will continue to be a hot rod project its entire life..I have squeezed about all I can N/A out of 346 cu. in. I need a larger engine..next chapter in the project is a stroker motor and more gear banging and developing a very large grin ...
