Hey all,
Getting long tubes installed soon (I hope)... Just wanted to get some thoughts on who else has installed headers, and whether or not you installed an X-pipe at the same time (or added one later), or determined that one isn't necessary. (Oh, and I'm keeping the stock mufflers, by the way.)
The factory h-pipe arrangement has a pitifully small opening between the pipes, so it's not nearly as functional as an aftermarket (X-pipe) one. However, I've also heard that an X-ipie may not be too "necessary" on a Z06, since the factory exhaust (Ti mufflers) are quite good. So, maybe the factory set-up is fine.
