Looking at buying Z06

Hey guys,

Have looked here for a long time but never posted. I have a 2003 Cobra right now that I am selling to get a Z06. Its right around 480rwhp but I am tired of modding and want something a little nicer.

Wanted to know what you guys think about this price. 2k2 Z06 with 8600 miles for 33K. Seems like a steal. Is this pretty good?

Im going to look at it today. Thanks for the help.

Zach

I think you are making an excellent move. The car sounds like a very nice unit with low mileage. I say go for it and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the site.
That sounds like a good deal to me.
There are several members here who made the same (Cobra to Z06) switch. I'm sure they will chime in with their experiences and comparos of the 2 cars.

The Cobra has been a great car. I looked at another blue one today that is for sale at a Corvette place and they want 37K for it with 8600 miles. Great looking car with chrome rims and all. 33 sounds better though.

I just made the move two months ago, my Cobra was making 451/481rwhp.

First, you better snatch that '02 for that price and miles. Sounds like a really good deal.

Second, I'm very happy with my decision to get the Z over the Cobra. Handling is in a completely different league, as well as looks in my opinion. I truly believe that my old Cobra would hand my moderately modded Z its ass on the strip though. It doesn't feel to have the same brute strength, but that might be due to going from the SC to N/A. Nothing a heads and cam package shouldn't cure.

While the prices for the cars aren't that far apart, at the end of the day one is a Corvette and the other is still a Mustang. The only compliments I got on the Cobra were generally from the younger crowd. The Z gets remarks from everybody, almost to the point where its a bit embarassing.

Good luck with the hunt, I'm sure you'll enjoy the Z.

Thanks alot guys!!!

I have a good idea of what I need to be looking for now. The blue one seems a little bit on the steep side. I am gonna go out and look at the red one today. I really like silver though.

Sounds like yall are a bunch of good guys. I am real excited to get a Z. I have loved them since they came out. The Cobra was just easier because of the price.
