Im looking at a 04 z-16 z. The z-16 package is chrome rims carbon hood stripes and badges right ? I was wondering if they had different shocks than the regular z ?
Its been a long time comeing for a corvette and i think this is the one. Its a 04 with 37 thousand miles. I think im gonna be able to pick her up in the 29-30k range this seems like a pretty good deal to me esp since i guess the z-16 is a 2k option ??? " come on gm its just stickers !"
The very week i get her im gonna do the complete exshaust --- cai--- and hurst shifter. On my old vette "01 vert" with those mods i was getting 330 rwhp. I honestly have no idea what i should expect from a z as far as power after those mods. 400 rwhp without doing a cam would be great but i think thats a bit far fetched or has it been done before?
Looking forward to getting behind the wheel again !

The wheels are polished...not chrome...The hood is carbon fiber and the stripes indicate it...the option cost was about $4500...the only option difference was BSM's.
Congratulations and Good Luck With you new baby

I believe the one im looking at does have the body side moldings
I was not aware that the rims were polished not chrome. I suppose thats better for longevity

They also have different badges and seat emblems. The headrest have the C5 emblem not the Z06 emblem in the headrest. When you add a CAI you should get in the 360 range maybe more depending on which one you choose. Your mods count for more now that you are starting with more. You had a regular coupe or vert last time right? Enjoy the Z. Don

Sounds like a nice ride! Congrats!
Did you ever get the Cobra you were looking at or was it the R1?
Unless you know the person, 30k is way low based on going prices for the Z16. Get a carfax!
There is some history available at the Z16.org link registry. Become a member there and you might get more info if you have the VIN # of the one you are looking at.
It's a great car if you get an original (not wrecked) one.

I dyno'd at 400rwhp (351hp stock-same dyno) with bolt-on's....headers/exhaust/intake/throttle body/LS edit.
