lowering....???bump steer?

Took the Z today to get it lowered, gave him the new bolts and he said i need the bump steer in order to do it right? I thought you didn't have to have bump steer on the new vette? any ways now i have to wait and get bump steer in order to lower it and do it right. Is he right or wrong?

Uhh bumpsteer is something you NEVER want to have. Unfortunately, the rear end has tons of bumpsteer - so much for the early Z propoganda saying the car was bumpsteered at the factory (along with the better shifter, and some other things).

But any competant alignment shop will just correct it after the lowering and during the alignment.

how much did you lower the car? Are these cars built so poorly that within a 3" travel range you have to re bumpsteer them, if so, might as well not do it.
