Maxie Price deposit on '03

Just got an e-mail from Monica at Maxie Price saying they want a $5K deposit on '03 50th anniversary cars. This is a supporting dealer?

No thanks.

Deposits

We see no reason to ask deposits at this time, we have a list
in numerical sequence based upon the time of request for a
2003 was made.

We will follow that list when the vehicle is announced, asking
normal deposits at that time of $1000 to $2000.

Credit card deposits will contine to be accepted.

Respect and trust is a two way street between dealer and
customer.

I could not agree more Bob.

I think the same should be true between Vendors.

deposits......

Ramp cheverolet started taking $1000 credit card deposits last year. With this deposit...they put you on a list for the 50th ann. car. I was # 21 on the list, but cancelled it and bought the Z w/ 0% fin. I didn't mind the deposit...sometimes this is the only way people can show they are serious. ( I don't beleve in wasting other people's time)

While 5k is a bit heavy for a deposit, 1-2k seems like a fair amount. If you are a serious buyer than you should already be prepared for a serious deposit. I take deposits from customers all the time before I even do any work on their homes. When I show up to start, a lumber truck has already been there, insurance in place and men on the payroll. Point is, deposits like money talk! Bill
