Mechanical Check-out

I am zeroing in on a 02 to buy in the Northeast. Has about 25K miles on it so it has been around some, but still on original tires which I take as a sign it has not been driven real hard. At any rate I am 1300 miles away so am having a mechanic who is knowledgable with Vettes take a look at it.

If this was you buying a car, what would you think the mechanic should pay special attention to?\
thanks for the help

Look for all of the normal wear points - suspension and such. Put the car on a scope to check out the engine. Would be nice to see basic engine parameters during a drive (autotap of such file).

General condition of the interior/exterior - ask for a picture of the drivers seat - this shows some of the highest wear and is easy to see.

Have you asked what warranty work has been performed? Are there any mods on the car?
