i believe it's the cheapest way to have a camera mount (no drilling necessary) .. i was debating to get a camera mount with suction cups but couldn't make sure if it would work with my digital camera and didn't wanna spend $80...instead i went with walmart tripod for $12 ,adjustable strap (w/hooks) for $2..
Yes That is very ghetto, BUT IT WORKS!!!! Congratulations because I was going to do teh same thing except I found a better way to make a ghetto mount....Hahahahahaha
Suggest to make the camera height a tad bit lower, so it is dead center of windshield, at eye level....Th evideo looks better when you ar enot looking UP or DOWN into the video itself...Try it out..
Overall, LOOKS GREAT!!!
COOL!!!

yeah i'll try to find a better spot next time ,it looks like i was checking on the video but in reality i was just looking at my rear view mirror like everyone else ...
i took the pictures with my webcam , cuz my digital camera was in use sorry for the blurry images
once i get a better shot of that ,i'll post it here
lol that is gheto, using a tri-pod as a camera mount in a car LMAO I love it, but it surprised me seeing how stirdy it was on your test drive, and I was also surprised to see that digital camera actually makes descent videos, usually you see people mounting video cameras not photo cameras
nover the less the video was great quality and smooth +1 for you
^^^ it's a canon digital camera (model . SD 450) ,it's capable to take 640x480 res video which is good enough for my taste.. one thing to mention ,youtube downsizes the vid . resolution to 320x240 no matter what resolution you capture your videos at..
