My shift points...feedback please.

Street driving:

Upshift every 3k RPM

OR

1st .....0 - 20mph

2nd .....21 - 30mph

3rd .....31 - 40mph

4th .....41 - 50mph

Freeway:
5th .....51 - 65mph

6th .....70 - 80mph

This is my first sports car so I dont know if this is bad driving.

Anyone else shift this way?

mine is a little different. It all depends if I need the power or just cruising around.
If I don't use the skip shift
1 15
2 20
3 25
4 30
5 35
6 45

To get the smothest driving i experminted around and noticed that the following works as a very good combination for 'getting around'
1st - 2200
2nd - 2400
3rd - 2200
4th - 3200

if you would like to get around quickly and accelrate in between the following works best for me
1st 2000 rpm
2nd 2700 rpm
3rd 4200 rpm

btw you notice that i never mentioned 5th and 6th and thats becuase both gears are overdrive gears, which to me means that i am not supposed to accelrate while they are in that gear. I know i can, but i wouldnt unless i am racing and i shift into 5th at that point i would careless what happens. Back to the point, i still use them however whenver i stabilize my speed and decide i am going to drive 50, 55, 60 or whatever. I prefer to use 5th gear whenver i am in at speeds between 50-65, andi prefer to use 6th gear for any cruising speed higher than that.

"Upshift every 3k RPM"
Nope, every 6500 unless:
1. COPS, 2. blocked by little old lady "targets", 3. "stretching" to a gas station.
