Our Louisiana Corvette Clubs rented a new dragstrip in our area (south louisiana) this last Sunday. My Z06 ran a 12.7 1/4 mile @ 112 at the dragstrip. This is completely stock, with no powershifting and not too good 60 foot times. Sorry, but I had to brag, I am having a GREAT time with my Z06......in fact my new liscence plate is BLUEZ06...hehehehehe. I LOVE MY Z06.......

KAYA..congrats! you are officially BITTEN my the Z06 bug! IT can only get worse now, catalogs, websites, searching for that special mod to get you .1sec faster! What did the track cost for a day? How many cars did you invite? Wish we had a track close enuf to do that. The one that is 45 mins away from us would never close to public for only a few I am sure! ($$$)

Our track is 1 hour away and offers both 1/4 mile track and a road course. We rented the track for 2K for a sunday, we used the dragstrip til noon and then did the road course after noon with scca drivers helping as copilots for the road course. We did slow driving on the road course then we did a faster lap. It was a great day and I am happy with my 1/4 mile times. I even won a trophy for fastest woman driver. ( I was actually the fastest Z06 also, out of four cars). I will be seeing you all at the Z06 fest this fall. Kaya
PS. There were 5 clubs involved in renting the dragstrip and probably 150 - 200 cars running on the dragstrip. Less on the road course. I would venture to say 5 or 6 hundred people for the afternoon that were just spectators.
So sorry to be awayso long, I was pretty ill for a few months. I am back in the saddle again and over the last two months I have increased my track times from 13.6 to 12.7. My launches are kinda sucky and my 60 foot times have been in the 2's. That 12.7 pass had a 1.9 60 foot time and I think if I dare launch harder, I will get in the mid 12's with my 1/4 mile time.
You must understand my hubby has the Buick GN doing 12.9 and we are competing for the household best 1/4 mile times. Kaya
