Need Rear Window Tinted

Hi all! New to the C5Z scene. Just picked up an 04 C5Z and going crazy buying all kinds of things for it.

Anyway, I want to tint my back window. I was quoted $95 from one guy and $385 from another I was like woah! The only concern I have are the dots at the top of the rear window.

The $385 guy said he paints it to make it look perfect. The $95 guy said he uses a different type of film.

I don't know what else to ask or if I should keep looking. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a good tint shop that has done C5Z's before?

I cant tell you where to go, but here's what you want.

Tell them that you want a 1-piece back glass and that you want black vinyl over the dot matrix.

That way nothing is permanent. $95 sounds about right

Some want sand them down, stay away!

The tint is peeling at the dot matrix on mine too. I took it back and they put some glue on it, but it didn't work. He offered to put black vinyl over it or sand the dots and re-tint. Do you have any pics of yours with the vinyl?

I had mine done on my '03 Z about 6 years ago. Still perfect. My guy put the tint right over the dots. His secret he says is that he uses a heat gun to shape the tint and ensure it holds it shape. So far so good. Hope this helps.

Black vinyl is the way to go. Just had mine redone with the vinyl over the DM. Matches the factory black edge on the 08' window perfectly, and like someone else said, it isn't permanent.
